Wondering if it's ok to use an image? Check out this infographic that explains "The Law, Terms and Ethics for Using Copyrighted Images." It helps you answer the harder questions by explaining what exactly Copyright, Fair use, Creative Commons, and Public Domain are and about Attribution. Creative Commons defines "appropriate credit" as (a) the name of the creator and attribution parties, (b) a copyright notice, (c) a license notice, (d) a disclaimer notice, and (e) a link to the material. Creative Common licenses can allow others distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon the work. Bottom line you need to check the license. Many Creative Commons images require attribution. All photos published on Unsplash are licensed under Creative Commons Zero which means you can copy, modify, distribute and use the photos for free, including commercial purposes, without asking permission from or providing attribution to the photographer or Unsplash. |

Pexels provides high quality and completely free stock photos licensed under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license. All photos are nicely tagged, searchable and also easy to discover through our discover pages.
CC Search allows you to search for creative commons photos across the web. Narrow your search by Pixabay, Google Images and more. Not all results that are generated have Creative Commons licenses but the majority do. Check the license for attributions requirements. CC Search is also great is if you are looking for sound clips.
